Kanakadurga Temple
The Kanakadurga Temple is one of the greatest and famous Hindu temple in India. Goddess Kanakadurga (SWAYAMBHU) manifested herself. Kanakadurga Temple is located above the Indrakeeladri hill and beside the Krishna river in vijayawada, Andhrapradesh, India. This temple is one of the top 10 major temples of the state in andhrapradesh.
Once upon a time on the request of other gods to goddess. The kanakadurga killed the demon durgamasura, that time she has been described in gold (kanaka) color so the gods praised to her as kanakadurga name. In this place legend Arjuna obtained the Paashupatasthra the most powerfull weapon from lord Shiva after his great penance. The temple was constructed Arjuna for goddess kanakadurga. So this place also called phalguna theertha.
At the Kanakadurga temple the enchanting of height 1.2 meter's icon of the deity is bedecked in glittering golden ornaments, and bright-full flowers. In Kanakadurga temple the goddess is shown eight arms, Each holding a powerful weapon like thrishule and knife etc.. In a standing posture over the demon Mahishashura and piercing him with her trident.
Sri adi shankaracharya swami (Jagadguru) visited this temple during 8th century and worshipped the deity and Installed "SRI CHAKRAM" At the feet of kanakadurga goddess.
Kanakadurga temple will perform Devi navarathrulu in time of September to October and shivarathri kalyanam in February to march and bhavani deeksha november to december all events perform annually.

How to reach kanakadurga tmple
The Vijayawada city can be reached by train, road or airways. The govt of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) also runs many buses from all major depots to Vijayawada it takes about Hyderabad to Vijayawada four to six hours to reach the place. There are many flights to Vijayawada and also from Chennai and Bangalore Hyderabad.
