The eighth from any sign is Rudra. Thus, there can be twelve Rudras in the Zodiac. However, the eighth lord from Atmakaraka qualifies as MaheƧvara, hence the sign ocuppied by the Atmakaraka will not harm the native because of the protective nature of the Atmakaraka. So if any signs are causing harm to the native, he should chant the Rudra Mantra of the 8th from it for protection. Now how to assign the mantras to the houses. If you have troubles in 2nd from AK, then chant the mantra for Kapali, if in the 3rd, then for Pingala, etc.
