Nepal is a small country located between big huge country india and china.Being small also it have a great significance in world.Nepal is highly rich in geography, culture, and religions .Hinduism is practiced by a greater majority of people in Nepal. Pashupatinath temple is the biggest and most visited temple of lord shiva in the world.It is located in the banks of bagmati river at the middle of the kathmandu valley.It is visited by lots of visitor around the world every year. Due to its beauty it is listed in UNESCO world heritage sites. Pashupatinath is the olddest n most famous temple in kathmandhu.Once upon a time lord shiva became tired of his old palace kailashnath at top of himalays.He went to searh for new palace where he would escape to.Then he find kathmandhu as a suitable place.Without telling anyone he ran away from his palace to live in kathmandhu valley.Before the other gods find him he turned himself as a deer.All gods asked for help with him but he didnot listened.When shiva didnot listened to their pleas,they planned to use force in last stage.God bishnu grabbed lord shiva(Deer) by his horns n scattered horns into pieces.god vishnu then establised a linga in the bank of bagmati river by the help of broken horns.As time passed temple was burried and forgotten.After a certain time a cow was noticed to sprinkled her milk in the burried temple.When the cow herders dug the spot where the cow sprinkled milk,they found the lost linga and again built the temple which is known as pashupatinath temple. Where is Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu ?Pashupatinath temple is in the banks of Bagmati river on the eastern side of Kathmandu. The place where Pashupatinath is located is called Gaurighat, Kathmandu. People often say the location as Gaushala, Jaya bageswori etc. So, when you reach near the intersection of Gaushala or Jaya Bageswori or Mitrapark then you will see the board where it is written "The Way to Pashupati". The another easier way to figure out is "Bagmati river is flowing beside Pashupatinath". You may hear the sounds of bell from the temple as well.
