Lord Shreeanthji was the deity form of Lord Krishna which is located in the holy place of Nathdwara it is situated near the Udaipur which there in Rajasthan, and was there in the presiding central deity of the Vaishnava sect known as Pushti Marg which or Shuddhadvaita, which is established by Shri Vallabhacharya. Shrinathji specifically refers to the story in the Bhagavata Purana where in Lord Krishna which is lifts Govardhan hills to save the inhabitants of Vrindavan from a downpour of rain sent by the Indra, King of the devas. Krishna which is form of Sri Nathji which is also a worshipped throughout India by the followers of Bhakti Yoga and the Vaishnava tradition, especially with in Gujarat.
The town of Nathdwara itself is often referred to as ‘Shrinathji’, after the famouse deity. It is believed that a sage Madhavendra puri rediscovered this Gopala deity near its first location at Govardhana in the Vrindavana, but known now as Srinathji. This form was Lord Gopal was later worshipped in Mathura by Vallabhacharya, follows of vishnuswami of the Rudra Sampradaya, who in turn was influenced by the devotional mood of Madhavendra Puri.
