Khodiyar Mata.
Khodiyar Mata temple is situated in Rajkot at a distance of 4 kilometers from Sihor and 15 kilometer from Bhavnagar which is located in Gujarat. Khodiyar Mata of Gujarat stands on 36 pillars, which maintain the mandap. The mandap is the middle formation, where the main deity of the temple is located. The presiding diety of this holy place is the ancestral Goddess of Bhavnagar.

Khodiyar Mata temple is most famous in Bhavnagar. Around the holy place there is nice attractive beauty, and also a crystal plain lake, visitors never miss to have its tranquility.

Khodiyar Maa is the Hindu goddess who materializes in the story of Mamaniya Gadhvi in about 700 AD. Mamaniya Gadhvi had a excellent relationship with the then ruler – Maharaj Shilbhadra. The ruler’s minister envied this excellent relationship and arranged a system to get rid of Mamaniya Gadhvi. They were not very successful to influence the ruler, but they succeeded in persuading the ruler’s wife. One day the doorkeepers did not let him go into the palace.

Mamaniya asked for the cause. He was told that a childless man is not appeal of the king’s existence. Mamaniya returned home and required to invite Lord Shiva for help. While Lord Shiva did not show, he sure to give his life away as a finishing sacrifices. Presently while he was about to make it, Lord Shiva appeared, he resolute to give his life away as a last sacrifice. Now when he was about to make it, Lord Shiva appear and took him to the Snake Kingdom – Naglok to perceive the king of Snakes – Nagdev. Behind inquiry his is legend full of humiliation, the Nagdev’s daughters resolute to help too.

When Mamaniya came home, with his wife he organized, as advised by the Nagdev’s daughters, eight cradles in belief of a huge incident. One day eight snakes crawled into the house and Mamaniya had swiftly seven daughters and one son. One of the daughters was khodiyar Maa. Behind presentation many amazing powers, citizens believe her to be goddess and has temples and memorial too.

Shri Umiya Mataji:

About the temple the myth is that in 1899, Umiya Mata emerge in the vision of one Rattan Baba which is living in the small village known as Kutiyana and tell him that her statue would be originate at a particular spot in Sidsar Village.
 

The words Umiya is resulting from the word Uma, sense mother. She sits in the major temple of Unjha and is worshipped by her sons and daughters across Gujarat and World. She is worshipped in different forms, the mainly accepted form is of “Parvati” and she is also known as NavChandi or Nav Durga due to the nine forms generally worshipped.            
 

Excavation at the mark yield the statue of the deity in the shape that it is worshipped still at present.

A Shri Umiya Mataji statue was found in all its fine clothes, with beautiful jewellery, and an quality of smell. A place of worship was constructing for Umiya Mata for all Kadya Patidars in the Saurastra district to worship.


The Patidars think Umiya Mata grants her follower whatever they desire for. The association is working to decide dispute and quarrel arose among the Patidar by way of compromise.
